The main goal is the simulate interest in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) subjects within the youth at their early ages.

MathComp

MathComp (Math Competition) provides young students the opportunity to demonstrate their math problem solving skills. Registration is required HERE. The fee is $10 for member parents, and $15 for non-member parents. Each registered participant will receive a free event T-shirt. The competition is not restricted to any ethnicity group.

Parenting Seminar – “How to Mathemize your Child\’s Potential for Problem-Solving” by Kathy Cordeiro

While the children are taking their competition tests, all parents are invited to join us in the free parenting seminar. We are honored to have Kathy Cordeiro, Communications Director at AwesomeMath Summer Program to be the Parenting Seminar speaker. Her presentation will be on “How to Mathemize your Child\’s Potential for Problem-Solving”.

Kathy Cordeiro has been involved with mathematics and gifted education for over 10 years as a teacher, parent, facilitator, and math coach. She is the Marketing/Communications Director for AwesomeMath, an organization devoted to providing enriching experiences in mathematics for intellectually curious learners. Through summer campspublicationscurriculum, and competitions, AwesomeMath fosters a community that values critical thinking, creativity, passionate problem solving, and lifetime mathematical learning. She also facilitates the Metroplex Math Circle (MMC) at University of Texas at Dallas, which hosts the AMC competitions. Both AwesomeMath and MMC were founded by Dr. Titu Andreescu, the creator of the Math Rocks program and former coach of the US International Mathematics Olympiad.

MathFun

MathFun is an interactive program allowing parent/children to work together in solving math and engineering quizzes and games

which stimulate their interest in mathematics. Every year, we have about 20 schools, companies, institutions and organizations bringing interesting math and engineering materials to the site to interact closely with the students. This is the fun part of the fair that the children love the most. Do not miss out this great opportunity to get your kids involved in the world of math and engineering! The participation of this event is open to the public.

If you would like to setup a booth at the event, please download this form (2016 MathFun Registration Form) and return to us.
