The main goal is the simulate interest in Science\, Technology\, Engineering and Math (STEM) subjects within the youth at their early ages. \nMathComp\n \n \nMathComp (Math Competition) provides young students the opportunity to demonstrate their math problem solving skills. Registration is required HERE. The fee is $10 for member parents\, and $15 for non-member parents. Each registered participant will receive a free event T-shirt. She is the Marketing/Communications Director for AwesomeMath\, an organization devoted to providing enriching experiences in mathematics for intellectually curious learners. This year we aim to have even more participating teams as we prepare to host the Nothing But Net Challenge (regional level) on February 13th\, 2016.   The competition will be located at Schimelpfenig Middle School\, with 24 teams participating. \nThe VEX Robotics Competition\, presented by the Robotics Education & Competition Foundation\, is the largest and fastest growing middle school and high school robotics program globally with more than 12\,000 teams from 33 countries playing in over 1\,000 tournaments worldwide. Each year\, an exciting engineering challenge is presented in the form of a game. Students\, with guidance from their teachers and mentors\, build innovative robots and compete year-round in a variety of matches. In addition to learning valuable engineering skills\, students gain life skills such as teamwork\, perseverance\, communication\, collaboration\, project management\, and critical thinking. The Skyrise Challenge VRC (regional level) will be hosted on Feb 7\, 2015\, at Rice Middle School\, with 24 teams. \nVEX Robotics Competition (VRC) is for middle and high school (11-18 years old). This uses the VEX Robotics Design System. It offers teams of students that are tasked with designing and building a robot to play against other teams from around the world in a game-based engineering challenge. Classroom STEM concepts are put to the test on the playing field as students learn lifelong skills in teamwork\, leadership\, communications\, and more. More than 10\,000 teams from 32 countries\, in over 750 tournaments. The engineering challenge as game varies by year. The 2014-2015 competition is called Skyrise. Shapard\, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Oncor Electric Delivery\, as the dinner banquet keynote speaker on August 16\, 2014. \nOncor is one of the largest electricity transmission and distribution companies in the country\, serving over 7 million people in north Texas. Under Shapard’s leadership\, Oncor is an industry leader in innovation and in the deployment of new technologies to improve the quality of electric service\, enable consumers\, lower costs and reduce emissions. Oncor has an infrastructure investment program\, which is focused on transmission and distribution network expansion and upgrades\, including one of the largest deployments of advanced meters in the country\, leading a significant expansion of the state’s transmission grid and other new digital technologies across the network. \nShapard also serves as the Chairman of GridWise Alliance (GWA). GWA is a leading advocacy organization focused on the advancement of all aspects of the country’s electric grid. GWA is comprised of over 100 organizations\, including utilities\, telecoms\, technology\, equipment manufacturers\, consultants\, labs and universities. He also serves as a board member of Leidos Corporation. This goal of this grand math fair is composed of 3 events: (a) a math competition\, (b) a math fun fair and (c) a parenting seminar. The main goal is the simulate interest in Science\, Technology\, Engineering and Math (STEM) subjects within the youth at their early ages. \nMathComp\n \nMathComp (Math Competition) provides young students the opportunity to demonstrate their math problem solving skills. Registration is required. The fee is $10 for member parents\, and $15 for non-member parents. Each registered participant will receive a free event T-shirt. The competition is not restricted to any ethnicity group. \nThe contesters must participate for the same grade he/she is at in the 2013-2014 academic year. Sandbagging may result in being disqualified. 1st\, 2nd and 3rd prizes\, and honorable mentions will be awarded to each grade\, and the names of the winners will be published in the local newspapers and on the CIE/USA-DFW website. His presentation will be on “The Playful Parent: Encouraging Self-Guided Education”. \n Mr. Crawford is a three-time invitee to the Mathematical Olympiad Summer Program where the U.S. team is prepared for the International Mathematical Olympiad.
