Registration is required. The fee is $10 for member parents\, and $15 for non-member parents. Each registered participant will receive a free event T-shirt. We are honored to have Mathew Crawford\, Executive Director and Co-Founder of Daedalus Education to be the Parenting Seminar speaker. His presentation will be on “The Playful Parent: Encouraging Self-Guided Education”. \n Mr. Crawford is a three-time invitee to the Mathematical Olympiad Summer Program where the U.S. team is prepared for the International Mathematical Olympiad. He is also a problem writer for numerous national competitions including the USA Mathematical Talent Search\, Mu Alpha Theta\, the iTest\, and the San Diego Mathematical Olympiad. Among the students of Mathew are numerous winners of national (MATHCOUNTS\, AMC\, AIME\, USAMO) and international (IMO) math and science (Siemens-Westinghouse) competitions. This is a key program in our portfolio of CIE Youth Programs\, intended to encourage our youths to explore\, to experiment\, and to see fun in science and engineering. \n  \nPart 1: Opens to students from 8th to 12th grades: Engineering Project Competition. Five (5) projects are available for contestants to select. \nPart 2: Engineering Fun\, open to students from 1st to 7th grades\, also the older students who do not prefer to build the projects at home. Ready-Kits will be provided to contestants to build to the specifications on site\, and add on their own creativity. \nRegistration is now open through May 15\, 2010. For information on the registration process\, project descriptions\, competition rules\, eligibility\, location maps and other instructions please download the attached documents below.
