Many parents inquire about the slides of parenting seminar. CIE is not authorized to release the material. You may send your request to Mr. Bruce Yeh directly.

The MathComp/MathFun is the annual flagship youth program organized by the Chinese Institute of Engineers/USA, Dallas Fort-Worth Chapter. It attracted participation of about a thousand students, parents, educators and volunteers each year.

This grand math fair is composed of a math competition, a math fun fair and a parenting seminar. It will be held on June 15, 2013 (Saturday) 12:00pm – 5:00 pm at the Collin College, Spring Creek Campus at the Conference Center.

MathComp (Math Competition) provides young students the opportunity to demonstrate their math problem solving skills. The fee is $5 for member parents, and $10 for non-member parents. Free event T-shirts will be given to all contesters. The contesters must participate for the same grade he/she is at in 2012-2013 academic year. Sandbagging may result in being disqualified. 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes, and honorable mentions will be awarded to each grade with trophies, and winner\’s names will be published in the local newspapers and on the CIE website. We will let you know your score and scores of your peer contesters, so you know where you are at your group.

While the children are taking their competition tests, all parents are invited to join us in the free parenting seminar. We are honored to have Harvard father, Mr. Bruce Yeh, to share with us on “Pursuing Excellence with Your Children”.

MathFun is an interactive program allowing parent/children to work together in solving math and engineering quizzes and games which stimulate the students\’ interest in mathematics. Every year, we have about 20 schools, companies and organizations bringing interesting math and engineering materials to the site to interact closely with the students. This is the fun part of the fair that children don\’t want to miss. Participation of this part is free.
